Care Instructions

Indian ethnic wear often uses delicate fabrics, intricate embroidery, and natural dyes. Proper care ensures your garments remain vibrant and beautiful for years to come.

Silk (Sarees, Lehengas)
  • Dry clean only — avoid machine or hand washing silk.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading.
  • Fold along existing creases and store in a muslin cloth, not plastic.
  • Iron on low heat from the reverse side; use a pressing cloth between the iron and fabric.
  • Avoid spraying water or perfume directly on silk.
Cotton (Salwar Kameez, Kurtas)
  • Machine wash on a gentle/delicate cycle in cold water.
  • Wash dark colours separately to prevent bleeding.
  • Do not tumble dry — hang in shade to air dry to retain shape and colour.
  • Iron on medium heat while slightly damp for best results.
  • Block-print and hand-painted items should be washed inside-out in cold water only.
Georgette & Chiffon
  • Hand wash gently in cold water with mild detergent, or dry clean.
  • Do not wring — gently squeeze out excess water and hang to dry in shade.
  • Iron on very low heat or use a steamer to remove wrinkles.
  • Heavily embellished georgette should always be dry cleaned.
Embroidered & Embellished Garments
  • Always dry clean garments with zari, sequins, mirror work, or heavy embroidery.
  • Store flat or rolled (not folded tightly) to avoid crushing embellishments.
  • Wrap in tissue paper before storing to prevent snagging.
  • Never iron directly on embroidery — use a pressing cloth or steam from a distance.
General Tips:
  • Always check the care label on your specific garment.
  • Air garments after wearing before storing — avoid storing damp or worn clothes.
  • Use cedar blocks or neem leaves in storage to deter moths naturally.
  • For stains, blot gently — never rub, as this can spread the stain or damage fibres.
